About

Background

Web designer Juli Duffer brings a broad base of experience to her work, ranging from traditional art to the latest in multimedia technology. She grew up in the Chicago area and moved to Colorado in 1994 where she lives with her two children. An artist and writer, Juli enjoys sprinkling her creativity into all that she does.

Experience

Design and Technology

Juli combines her creative side with a growing cache of technical skills. She has worked as a senior graphic and web designer for a wide variety of companies and clients. Although her passion is with design, her technical, organizational and communication skills lend strength to all aspects of the design process, including web development, project management, creative direction, production, Flash animation, branding, web marketing and search engine optimization.

Traditional Art

Juli has dabbled in mixed media collage, paper making, book binding, jewelry making, flower arranging, paper dolls, interior design and painting. She is an entrepreneur who ran a successful art business that featured handmade cards with real flowers and textured papers along with "tea party girls" — paper dolls and greeting cards made out of reclaimed tea wrappers. She seeks beauty in the unexpected and likes to find uses for materials that might otherwise be discarded. Her studio is a mix of labeled bins and organized chaos.

Education

Juli has a B.A. in Advertising/Marketing from the College of Communications, Journalism and Performing Arts at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She later earned a 30 credit hour technical certificate in Multimedia Web Design from Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. She now teaches Web Design online and in the classroom to web design students at the college. Her love of learning compels her to continually try new things, learn new tricks and share her passions.
